Raven Software presents an adventure for all ages in Singularity, a first-person shooter that puts players in control of time itself. Set in the present day, the game’s plot revolves around a sci-fi piece of equipment called the “Device Manipulation Time” or “DTM.”

That allows its users to send a single object (or person) forward or backward in time, in relation to the world around it.

The powerful device is paramount for both puzzle solving and combat gameplay. It could be used to age a strong iron gate blocking a path to ruined rust, for example, or to return an enemy soldier to a monstrous, senseless, decentralized state.

Players take on the role of a top Air Force pilot named Nate Renko, who is sent to investigate the mysterious island known as Katorga-12, an identified powerful radiation source.

It appears that the island was once the home of a Cold War skunk works for the Russians, and the location of ground zero for a space-time disaster that occurred 60 years earlier. The weather itself is unstable now on the island, as it appears to fluctuate between 1950 and 2010. Nate faces Russian soldier enemies from both time periods, as well as ferocious animals and plants that have been mutated by radiation and unstable weather-scenery.
